He’s never experienced bullshit failing this badly before. COVID, the aftermath of Jan. 6, and ICE in Minnesota come closest. But there were always more people who’d buy it—or at least go along with it—and more press going with uncritical “Trump Says” headlines. He doesn’t have other moves.
