@cstross I am reading Regicide Report and when you quoted Andromeda Bookshop I jumped on the seat.
That was my first (and main) supplier of SciFi books since mid 80s until 95 when I started to use Internet. I still remember the booklet they sent with the news.

Thank you for bringing back such memories.

@lrosa @cstross I'm still waiting for it to become available in Australia.
Must be coming via carrier pigeon

@tjbutt58 @lrosa IIRC Orbit distributes hardcovers to Aus/NZ by container ship from the EU. It *probably* made it through Suez before the current mess kicked off, but it usually takes 2-3 months to reach the distributor's warehouses.

Wholesale hardcovers are too heavy to be worth airfreight, even at the inflated prices Australian (and presumably NZ) bookstores sell them for, which in turn depresses demand.

@cstross @lrosa I'm just glad I have a local book store that pre-orders.
Mixed feelings about reading the end of an era. I've worked in software engineering and Linux administration for most of my life, fortunately no incursions from the 'dungeon dimensions'
@tjbutt58 @lrosa The book after that (not Laundry) is already with my agent while I work on the next in turn. It's not the end of my writing!
@cstross @lrosa and a good thing too.
I look forward to it.
