1st round of Głuszyca Open 2026,
Tymon Kolasiński did an amazing average (PR2): 4.71
(3.56) (5.86) 4.52 5.61 3.99 (note that the 3.99 is counting!)

And he beat is PR single with 3.56!

My first reaction was 'Wow, he broke his own European Record!"
Then I remembered that the Teodor's 2.76 is the new world record but also the new European Record.

I'm disappointed for Tymon :(
But he's still number one in the average ranking.

@l_inadapte I was curious if that was his first counting 3 and it looks like he got another one the last time he got ER single 😄 3.62 single with a counting 3.89. He's gotten a lot more consistently fast with ZB!

@taffypeppers
Oh, nice fact! Indeed, this is the 2nd time this has happened.

I have the impression that Tymon has reached a milestone since his last Monkey League's solves. Moreover, he said it: "We're back!"
You're right, ZB has paid off.

@l_inadapte Those 5s were a bummer. I could easily see him getting something like a 4.20-4.30 average by the end of the year🤞 Maybe even a second counting 3 with the right scrambles!
@taffypeppers
His PR Ao5 is actually 4.67. 4.20~4.30 would be a big step. It's surely optimistic but realistic.
Tymon seems to be starting his second part of his cuber life, so why not?
I wish him, he deserves it.
@l_inadapte I was curious what his PB was and found this 4.02: https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/unofficial-tymon-kolasinski-4-02-3x3-ao5.94423/ His PB spreadsheet looks out of date. I'd be curious what his ao25 is. That seems like a good indicator for peak performance in a competition with good scrambles to me 🙂

First time Tymon’s PB has been disclosed in a very long time I believe. As far as I know, this is WB2

@taffypeppers
Interesting.
Others indicators could be his results at the Monkey League season 6, with:
- 5.07 tournament median (38 solves)
- 4.82 match median (16 solves)

I feel that we both like this cuber, don't we? :)

@l_inadapte Tymon is great! Definitely a cuber I enjoy watching. I legitimately cried when I saw him get the 5x5 WR average live at Worlds 😆Good point about the ML results! He's mentioned before that he gets more nervous about the ML solves than in WCA competition. The head to head is a different mental game for sure!

@taffypeppers
Indeed, I also noticed that Tymon is not too fond of head to head events.

He has one of the biggest technical background and I see that guy as a cubing master.
I understand your feeling about Worlds. I was watching live too and this moment has been magnificent!
His 3rd place at 3x3 beside Yiheng and Xuanyi, the two prodigies, was also stunning :)
