I'm not a fan of proton, but this is an issue of unfortunately poor opsec. No email company is going to commit a crime in the country they're incorporated in by not turning over your data

I prefer tuta, bitwarden and others for a lot of reasons, but proton didn't really have a say in the matter without breaking the law...
