"The president also expressed surprise in the interview that US allies in the Gulf have been targeted by Iran. These countries “got shot at unnecessarily”, he told NBC, describing Iran’s decision to target them as “the biggest surprise I had of this whole thing”.

This isn't the biggest or most disgusting piece of news today - but this is how you can tell Trump doesn't read his briefings. Iran has been telling us this was their plan if we invaded for more than a decade.

And Fwiw, those Gulf countries have more or less surrendered to US hegemony. They are for all intents and purposes part of the Pig Empire, even suppressing their own people to protect US financial interests in the region.

I am not for war, I do not think there are good wars; if I had my way I would dismantle every bomb on Earth.

But the idea that US backed regimes providing a launching point for the decimation of Iran are not legitimate military targets is nonsense.

I have nothing nice to say about theocratic rule (which quite frankly, is a disease all three countries involved in this story are suffering under) but the idea that Iran is the bad guy here when we started this war with a gutless sneak attack and have been targeting civillian infrastructure on the regular? Is nonsense. Western exceptionalist bullshit.

When you bomb people? They fight back. And pretending they're the bad guys for fighting back is basically a rapist's logic.

@AnarchoNinaWrites this! I have read German Greens who say that if we aren't allowed to bomb Iran cause the Mullahregime is bad and needs to be dismantled (which is correct, but bombing the shit out of them won't help the population), the Allies shouldn't have been allowed to bomb, invade, utterly destroy and occupy Nazi-Germany in 1945...
@AnarchoNinaWrites glad you caught that too. It’s zonkers how completely blatant all of this is and so obviously criminal. Every so often I literally shake my head when I read a news article that appears to have been written by a very naive person. In this case I wonder if Ai was “consulted”.
