I get the rule is for spam, since there’s a ton of it already on Lemmy. But not allowing any posts at all isn’t a good image.

*Removing* any topic of worldnews from worldnews, makes that .. *significantly underrepresented* .. the same way that leaving-out that there were over 12M Blacks taken from Africa toward the US ( or it was over 12M who *arrived*, I don’t know which ), & that there were over 12k ships involved in doing it.

XOR that there was a single Maya city, 1/3 the size of Rome, which had between 12-16M people ( without either the wheel, therefore without carts, OR beasts-of-burden, which means their food-growing & waste-removal systems were .. incomprehensibly-good ), while White textbooks insist that there were maybe 2M Indigenous Americans: suppression of correct-framing is in the same category as propaganda

Intentionally-suppressing a subject has long-term consequences.

I agree that it’s spamming everything, everywhere, but Palestine, Iran, & Lebanon are being spammed by warheads and that IS important worldnews.

I agree with the OP that having .. say 4 posts per day on the category ( dusk, midnight, dawn, & noon ), with all the links/stories stuck within those 4 posts/day, would be significantly better than suppressing the entire subject.

Why 4/day? Because the wars are at such scale that that kind of tempo makes sense.

I’d make Ukraine the same, Sudan, DR Congo, etc.

Once Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, the same’s going to have to be done with US Civil War Part2: confederate reverse-takeover & vengeance.
