The Community of Squatted Prosfygika is a glimmer of hope for a better world. A luminous and alive site of resistance against the dominating order.
It is a squatted, self-organized neighborhood in the midst of Athens with over 400 inhabitants from 27 nations. For more than 16 years, the Community has built the largest social project in Greece and one of the largest in Europe, distributed in many solidarity and empowering structures.
A few months ago, people from the Prosfygika were with us in Frankfurt with their Europe-wide campaign #saveprosfygika to collect money for the preservation and renovation of the houses and build international solidarity structures.
Today marks the day 37 of the hungerstrike of our friend and comrade Aristotelis from the Community of Squatted Prosfygika. He has entered into a hungerstrike until death for the defence of life.
