Whiskey Pete Hegseth said “Show no mercy, show no quarter” to our enemies. His rhetoric is a war crime.

No quarter, during military conflict or piracy, implies that combatants would not be taken prisoner, but executed.

Since the Hague Convention of 1899, it is considered a war crime; it is also prohibited in customary international law and by the Rome Statute.

@copter_chief several former JAGs and experts in US military law (as in UCMJ et. al) have also stated unequivocally that any commanding officer in any branch issuing orders to 'give no quarter,' to refuse surrender, or to refuse aid at sea is committing a crime the UCMJ considers so serious, the MINIMUM sentence is life in prison and mandatory consideration of the death penalty if anyone dies as a direct result of those orders. For everyone involved.

@copter_chief You know who is going to get bitten in the ass by Hegseth's stupid quote? American troops when they get captured. And if they do get killed, Hegseth might as well have his finger on the trigger or hand on the sword hilt that ends their lives.
