José Albornozspotify keeps automating more parts of DJing, now the software suggests sorting
Ryan King@eljojo I keep wondering what data they’re training on to do DJ stuff. Playlists will only get them so far. I switched to Apple Music a month ago, the auto mix works pretty well, but doesn’t seem to understand song structure.
@lowpass they definitely do bpm analysis for the beatmatching, I feel like the algorithm is also aware of general phrasings of songs.
my first experience trying it, 1/3rd transitions were good, the rest not really. hopefully it gets better
@eljojo it’s an interesting challenge. Software has been able to figure out BPM for ages, and key for 15+ years, but what order things should go in to keep a crowd happy is a hard nut to crack. It would be interesting to train a model using cameras in a club plus the main audio and maybe the booth monitor.
