March 12, 2026 - "Conditions improved in parts of #NewYork where widespread precipitation increased streamflows, soil moisture, and groundwater. Conditions remained unchanged in #NewEngland, where frozen soils have not allowed for improved groundwater conditions. Severe drought was removed in southeastern New York, and moderate drought shrank in western New York. The U.S. Drought Monitor released on March 12 showed less than 1% of New York and New England in extreme drought, 19% in severe drought, 27% in moderate drought, and 30% as abnormally dry, compared to less than 1%, 19%,29%, and 28%, respectively, last week."
