My CSUN wrap up!
I spent the majority of my time other than sleeping at the 41st Annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference at the Anaheim Marriott.
I saw lots of friends including Joanna from Disney whom I worked with for about 17 or 18 years.
I also met new friends as well.
the key new advancement was announced but hasn't yet ben released. It is the building of AI into my JAWS screen Reader.
Naturally, you have to be careful how you use it but, it will make efficiency even better.
It is stilling being developed and those of us who Beta Test JAWS will see it perhaps as early as summer time with a hopeful release to all by the end of the year.

I also saw several braille displays and note takers. I thought the conference was excellent.
It is guessed that the crowds were huge but perhaps not as big as last years.
And I'm sure we lost some international guests due to the wars going on in a couple of spots in the world.

@JohnGassman and also because of the way your country is treating foreigners LOL
@JohnGassman what hardware standouts did you see? any interesting meta apps or equivalents ?
@jstark I didn't pay a lot of attention to Meta. their lack of privacy and somewhat accessibility prevent me from using them and look what they allowed Facebook to become with regard to accessibility.
@JohnGassman how about the agiga echhos ?
@jstark I talked with Agiga about their glasses and met their CEO at the Be My Eyes party. they've done a good job with their glasses. I have the Ally Solos glasses which are also good but Ally needs some work. But both Agiga and Envision are more recent entries to this field than Meta so it makes sense that Meta would be further ahead in terms of what their glasses will do... Innosearch on the other hand was schedule to have a booth but did not come to CSUN. I was curious about the company who made a talking oven. they were also schedule to be there but were not.
@JohnGassman yes and no. Envision hasbeen in the market for years. Deeply dissappointing in what they put together IMHO
@JohnGassman @jstark Were you interested enough in the Evolve to look at it closely_
@DeanEquity @jstark
I did see the Evolve and am impressed except for the cost. It supposedly going to be around $6100.00 Of course Adi was supposed to bring the Optima to CSUN and had his plane tickets and was told that he couldn't leave Israel. Evidently, there was a good update on the Optima that Orbit wanted to show at the show.
@JohnGassman Hi. How did you like the Braille displays that you saw? I am very interested in the Evolve and have registered to be notified when it can be purchased.
@CreativeChris
Hi Chris, I was impressed with the Evolve and they will also send me an email once it is released. But, $6100 is a lot of money for someone who is now retired so we'll see.
@JohnGassman Oh, that's great that you'll be notified when it's released. Yes, that is a chunk of change and that's why I am trying to buy these things while I'm still working. Retirement will be sooner than later for me and I'm glad to have the income to do it right now.
