@Walrus @bob I have not entirely done the maths, but the idea of off-grid mesh is not as daft as it sounds - if only you have enough devices, and they have enough memory, and store and forward.

Daft thing is I have a device in my pocket with 1TB of storage, and several high speed and high range radios.

If only Apple and Android built in a mesh using even WiFi based frequencies there would be enough to span countries.

But I imagine there is no money in it.
