Both literally, a character scientifically playing with a precise tool and getting a satisfying result. (There is the important detail that the scale determines the feather as being heavier than the heart.)
And metaphorically if this represents a moderation decision (a user being approved? getting a favorite?). Moderators do very hard work, I wanted to see an art motif mostly associated with very respected figures in this context.
@ovchipkaart I see a heart and a feather in two different contexts: Anubis as the Guardian of the Scales (very popular among furries), and Waffy holding these and the two other attributes. I think of that every time I load a Wafrn page to view on the original instance.
Also Ammit (once a feared beast, now seemingly an adorable critter in furry art) seems perfect for handling defederation and banning users. So the idea of weighting of the souls as social media moderation.
Then just random ideas of either getting into the role of the other, you chose the better idea.
