This emerging pattern does not speak to a wicked problem. Rather, it should be no surprise that people don't want to read machine-generated content that outwardly pretends to come from a person. Never used the site. The closest I ever got to it was getting sent links by the kind of acquaintances that put multiple emoji's in their opener/subject lines. From that scant exposure I'm not surprised BuzzFeed pivoted deep into AI, it probably improved their content.
