And yep I well know (and have lectured on) how this ID-projection UX habit predates 'AI'. Software developers are often unwittingly exploiting our innate propensity for soft animism in user feedback - "I encountered an error", etc. This has pre-trained/weened us to slide into this machine-as-entity trap, what was once conceived by Turing as an Imitation Game.
