Rhodesia, an apartheid state neighboring South Africa during the Cold War, who fought Zimbabwe in the hopes of upholding apartheid.

They lost the war, and were absorbed entirely into Zimbabwe.

There was a certain Reddit community that would meme the Rhodesian short shorts + FAL rifle getup. Back then thought it was good fun but later learned that most of it was racist dog whistle I did not understand.
