If you are in Germany, I've often found Kleinanzeigen has a better variety, so it might be worthwhile to check it as well. Otherwise, I really enjoy having the benefits and warranty of a refurbished device.

Edit: Don't really know about the exact models being good, but I'd definitely look for a device with RAM upgradability (not sure if this has it), as this is my current limiting factor which I just can't improve.

I cannot recommend the P1 series enough. They are a bit on the expensive side, even used. But they are real powerhouses which last you a decade. 😊

@stibbons Just looked up the ThinkPad P52. Excuse my language, but—fuck me, that’s an amazing laptop. Numeric keypad, too. Might go for that instead!

I recently bought a T460 for A$190.00 and installed Linux Mint - love it.

Now after an Intel i9, 64GB, model, but geez, they are pricey, and rare.

But, that will be my 'keeper' for quite a while I think.

Thinkpad's are great laptops afaic.

@digichelle I don't know if it's better (I think the recent T480s outperform it for CPU?) but I do like Debian on my ThinkPad X1 Carbon
