It's becoming a bit ridiculous (and frankly offputting) how every scifi show these days (looking at you Star Trek) indicates "damaged ships" with every possible light on the ship strobing for the entire episode. In the latest episode, not only was every light flashing and every display glitching for the entire show, but the bridge was on fire! The whole time! The crew ignored it! Don't you have fire extinguishers 1000 years in the future? Why are all your lights so shitty?!?
What substance could possibly be burning on the bridge for hours? Did you make it out of naphtha? In the Star Trek universe apparently everything is flammable but in a controlled way.
@stoneymonster also explosives behind every screen, which imo really changes the calculus on using computers
@ferrix now hang on, you may be on to something there
