I haven't read it.

Tim Cook doesn't deserve my attention.

@marcoarment Cook doesn't DESERVE your attention, for sure.

But you do host a really popular podcast about Apple stuff. It's kinda your job to at least begrudgingly read a 50th anniversary press release so you can coherently talk about it, right?

@jimmylittle @marcoarment Hey maybe don’t go around telling strangers what their jobs “kinda” are?
@dwineman @jimmylittle @marcoarment we all know Marco’s existing job of complaining 24/7 keeps him busy enough
@ammarmalik @dwineman @marcoarment Joking aside, Marco's complaints are generally well-grounded and very clearly explained. That's why I was disappointed to see that he thinks this isn't worth the 45 seconds to read this press release. Hearing his thoughts on things like this is one of the reasons I've been following him since the Build and Analyze days.

@jimmylittle @ammarmalik @dwineman Tim Cook's words are nearly meaningless, and always have been.

I don't think I've ever gotten much value out of anything he has said publicly.

He's too guarded to say anything worthy of anyone's attention, and his actions are too cold and greedy to stand behind any marketing message he espouses.

@marcoarment @jimmylittle @dwineman which other 3 trillion corporation has stood up to its government and lived to tell the day? You’re trying to hold Tim Cook up to a standard that simply does not exist.

@ammarmalik @marcoarment @dwineman The way I see it is – There's a difference between doing what you have to do for your company (how Tim Cook acted in Trump 1.0), and actively placating a dementia-riddled madman (how Tim Cook is acting in Trump 2.0).

Play nice to avoid crippling tariffs? Sure. Go for it.

Give Trump golden trophies and go to private screenings of the movie about his trophy wife? Nope. That's beyond playing the game, that's just hanging out with a wannabe dictator for fun.
