If you asked a person to make a tool that filters for LGBTQ grants, they could say no rather than putting that tool in the hands of DOGE.

But DOGE didn't ask a person, they asked a machine that cannot, by construction, say "no" to fascist demands.

I can't emphasize this enough. The ability to say "no" to unethical work is one of the few backstops we have against worsening fascism.

AI directly threatens that. It doesn't matter that AI doesn't work — the DoD was perfectly fine targeting a school because Claude told them to, after all, and it's not like DOGE cared whether or not their focus on eliminating DEI was accurate.

Have you seen the fascist propaganda extruded by genAI products? It looks like complete *ass*. It's not art.

But it doesn't matter to them: what matters is that it's propaganda. These are people who wear poorly tailored suits and ill-fitting shoes to prove loyalty, for fuck's sake.

@xgranade yeah. The people making the decisions here don't need it to be good, they just need it to be better at making them rich and powerful.
