So it turns out the report on Facebook being behind the gigantic sudden push for "age verification" laws was LLM slop. 🤬 https://old.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/1rshc1f/i_traced_2_billion_in_nonprofit_grants_and_45/ The underlying facts are ~probably~ still true, but the doubt this casts are immensely harmful and delay action. This is one of the many ways LLMs destroy the ability to trust information: by undermining the credibility of likely well-meaning people who use them.
