And this is the answer to the criticisms of *’The Burn’* being to revealed, in ****Discovery*** season three, to have been caused by the traumatic psychic cry of an abandoned toddler who saw all the adults around him die.

*’The Burn’* showed how a child’s trauma could inadvertently set off a cycle of cataclysmic trauma.

This ***Starfleet Academy*** finale gave us the corollary that the adults have the responsibility and the power to refuse to have their societies torn down by the unresolved legacy of such a traumatic experience in one person’s early life.
