The need to rapidly transition to a green economy has never been clearer.

The most expensive thing we can do is double down on fossil fuels.

Who'd have thought?!?

@ScottishGreens I think it's ironic that we (well, not all of us) are okay with massive investments in scaling data centers, their energy usage, capital requirements, etc. to create intelligence by brute force of digital computing but people act like storage of energy to balance alternative energy production with demand is impossible. Heck, we can store energy in water as heat with nothing more than a long wire for resistance heating. Not impossible.
@ScottishGreens It still baffles me that people don't get this. Think about how much your electric bill spikes in the summer. Now imagine it doubling. Now imagine that doubled figure is the cheapest it ever gets from that point onward.
@ScottishGreens I think that holds for nearly all countries. We seem to have reached the point where everything that’s ecologically sensible also makes economic sense even in the short term. Except for those individuals and corporations who are making money by destroying the planet.
