They absolutely, canonically, by definition, are not aware. They cannot think. This is not controversial or hard.

I love the comments from LLM acolytes stating the intelligence isn't the code but the data. Turning a golf club around doesn't make it into a pool cue.

@lproven They're definitely not aware (as in conscious).
Whether or not they can "think" depends on what you mean by "think". The data-processing part of "think", AI's might have (to a lesser extent than people), but definitely not the awareness part like you said.
