Man, used Arch for years. Love it to bits, gives me basically everything I want out of my distro.... but now we getting the rug pulled and... here we are, I guess, time for some reading

Gentoo without systemd - Gentoo wiki

@VileLasagna Is Artix not an option?

Gentoo is a good option though.

@octopuddle No idea, first time I'm hearing about Artix. Gentoo was the first thing I thought of because it was the first thing I remember where I can opt out of systemd and it's a distro I had interest in the past it's just that... Arch is just so good it created insurmountable inertia when it comes to distro-hopping

We'll see where I land, this is not something I can do any time soon anyway, will need time to safely migrate the workstation... fuck, ALL my PCs at home are Arch. Fucking dammit

@VileLasagna I don't much about it to be honest, other than it's Arch with systemd. Thought it might be an easier migration?
@octopuddle there's time to look into it. I'm not particularly married to the idea of going Gentoo but the thought of "build all the system from the kernel up with -march=zenv1" and such is attractive on a nerdy level. We'll see

@octopuddle do you know if Artix as a project has unified guidelines about the use of LLMs in contributions? I couldn’t find any.

I mean, I’m looking for alternatives from systemd specifically because of this and don’t wan’t to end up trapped with slop code again.

@gregrorio Sorry, I have no idea.
