(FYI lead singer Dr Graeme Downes did his PhD on the symphonies of Mahler. He was the principal songwriter in The Verlaines, and later went on to become a senior lecturer at Otago University teaching band performance, songwriting, analysis, music theory and in the process developed New Zealand's first rock music degree.)
