@rmondello the gendering of the kid was disappointing. I know that the author was projecting onto the hypothetical kid, but that's how it's been for decades, supporting the image that computing is for boys, and the rest of us are chopped liver

@saraislet @rmondello Plus this still feels... decidedly middle-class. 600$ budget for a laptop for a child? That would've been unthinkable for us. Moreso for non-boys in those families.
