That doesn’t look like a metroidvania in the slightest
Because it’s not a side-scroller?
Among other things, yes.

If A Link to the Past could be considered a metroidvania (I don’t) then I could see that. As a huge metroidvania fan, though, I would say this looks like an ARPG more than metroidvania based on the trailer.

On the other hand, Breath of the Wild is 3d and checks off the metroidvania boxes: sub-genre of action-adventure games focused on nonlinear exploration and guided progression with a need to acquire key items to enter certain areas.

I can’t think of a single metroidvania where you can run immediately to the final boss and beat it without picking up anything. No the sheikah slate does not count. BotW is in no way a metroidvania. I would say Kloa is closer to BotW than any metroidvania is.
