See, the thing about AI is that there are people who assume that it's all of a sudden going to make someone who doesn't care good at something

That's really not true

If you don't care about writing, it's not going to write well

If you don't care about good software, it's not going to make good software

If you've got no taste, it's not going to suddenly give it to you

People talk about being able to build entire apps in single prompts

I've yet to see a model make a good button on a single prompt

But if you don't care about things like interaction design, then sure it's probably fine, keep one-shotting your crappy software

And this isn't coming from someone who doesn't use agentic development tools

Cursor is my most used editor right now with Codex not far behind it

I put time and effort into my crappy software, thank you very much

@countablenewt Exactly. It's mostly going to be the opposite: if you don't care about *good* writing then you can't *identify* good writing when you see it, and you're more likely to think "AI" can do it just fine.

Same for code, for pictures, for video, for music, etc. The people who care the least know the least and assume it can't be that hard.

Crucially, they *hate* when someone who knows what they're doing makes them look like an idiot by telling them how inept they are.
