What is TrueNAS?

TrueNAS is a high performance data platform for managing any type of data, delivered through turnkey self-healing storage appliances and expert around-the-clock support.

That’s from their website, but it sounds like a bad AI slop answer. TrueNAS is a Network-Attached-Storage focused OS which originally was based around FreeBSD and ZFS but now comes in Linux editions (known as TrueNAS ‘core’ and ‘scale’ respectively)
That sounds so much more useful than their website self description.
