as usual, my claim that an estate man I met in a bothy in Glen Feshie said that there's already at least half a dozen free living Lynx in the Cairngorms. but wow they'd be epic in Kielder Forest - Missing Lynx project is working on this https://www.missinglynxproject.org.uk/

The Missing Lynx Project is raising awareness of the Eurasian lynx and exploring the possibility of reintroducing them to Northumberland.

@sarahdalgulls I think we'll get the first lynx and wolf releases in our lifetime. I wasn't always so hopeful but the success of other projects both at home and in Europe has improved the odds.

It's a bit broken that our biggest predator is the badger renowned for it's ability to dig up worms :)

Although they do take rodents, birds and amphibians when they get the opportunity they aren't exactly hunters.

@naturepunk I managed a nature reserve with a big gull colony the was getting ransacked by badgers! They ate all the eggs.. stick a big fence round it to keep them out and everyone was happy
@sarahdalgulls I wonder what percentage has been damaged by human beings.
