@jasmijn02 I don't know much about Dutch politics, but I admire you have so many parties and the parties appear to be focused on policy issues.

@cgervasi @jasmijn02

This particular party is mostly focused on lowering taxes and regulations, and letting other parties take the blame for their terrible decisions. They're really good at that.

@mcv @cgervasi *lowering taxes for corporations and the super rich.
@jasmijn02 @mcv It seems like VVD is moderately anti-immigration, which seems contrary to their classical liberal stance.
@cgervasi @mcv you may cross out the "moderately". They are openly against it. Even though their leader is a migrant herself. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@jasmijn02 @mcv I just looked up Dutch political parties. There doesn't seem to be a moderate libertarian party; maybe I would be #D66 if I were Dutch. As an electrical engineer, I like that there's a party named #Volt. ⚑
Maybe the grass is greener, but it seems the Netherlands is more orderly and gezellig than the US. I love the fietspaden and lack of commercial areas that are also highways, but I wouldn't want to give up my handgun and 30oz cup of weak coffee. πŸ‡³πŸ‡± πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 😊

@cgervasi I think Volt would probably be the "best" choice in this, D66 has also drifted off to the right, as most political parties and tv stations in our country have the past couple of years. The only good thing about this multiparty system is that things generally don't change for the worse so quickly as they are now in the US.

And hey, our coffee is waaaaay better! πŸ˜‚
(and so is our chocolate by the way) @mcv
