Martin Bucer, German Reformer, basically says: yes, you decide how much to give—but don’t keep turning up to church with the spiritual equivalent of empty pockets because you don’t trust the committee! The poor are Christ’s little ones.

So the question isn’t “Do I approve of the spreadsheet?” but “Am I actually giving?”
