I know it probably seems like it was just yesterday we were talking about Patch Tuesday and a lot of scary Windows flaws, but here we are again. Mercifully, unlike last month's five zero-day bonanza, this month is bereft of known 0days, but there are some reliably critical bugs like a pair of Office vulnerabilities that can be exploited through the Preview Pane.

@briankrebs No one is trusting MS these days with patching. Might be zero days but more likely your fleet will be DDoSd by MS vibe coded patches and your whole business grinds to a halt.
@briankrebs
This month didn't seem to be quite as lengthy, but the process still seems clumsy.
@briankrebs youd think the Worlds First Vibe Coded Operating System would be some weird embarrassment few people would hear about but instead its the os with the greatest desktop user share
@briankrebs it feels like there is a trend of people being recklessly moronic and betting on being Too Big To Fail. California dont even get the chance to suffer in isolation the consequences of banning linux because now every state is banning linux and windows is being vibecoded.
@briankrebs does that mean the (print?) preview pane will finally start working? It's been MiA for me in Win11 with exotic sofware like MS-Paint...
@briankrebs yes, I'm not really asking you to do my IT, but it's one of the straws that may end up pushing me back to Linux on the desktop - I wonder how many other folks that's true for?
@h4nd @briankrebs Curious what got you to leave linux and go back to windows in the first place 🤔 ?
@pinkRhododendron dropping Brian, I'm sure he's heard it all before. For biz, mostly it was office doc compatibility, and weird engineering software that was often W only, but also for gaming, as the state of Linux gaming was poor (think Orange Box timeframe).
@briankrebs
Thankfully I don't use MS Office and barely use Windows for specific old hardware that still doesn't play well with Linux.
@briankrebs I see 2026-03 Security Update (KB5079473) (26200.8037) under updates available to install 💻
