Montreal is about to be hit by a bad ice storm -- 2-3 cm of ice on everything forecasted. I hope they got it wrong, but if not, I may lose power for a few days.

May be time to invest into an ecoflow home battery and a vehicle that can do v2h.
@monsieuricon we're building a meshtastic mesh for this https://lora.reseaulibre.ca/ a bit late to jump in though

The Montreal mesh project

@Anarcat nice! I'm not sure I'm well positioned to participate in my West Island enclave. :)

@monsieuricon oh you're on the west island? I used to live on Niagara / Reginald Brown there, in Kirkland!

Hope the ice storm isn't too bad and that your power stays up. Good luck.

@monsieuricon you doing OK over there? How's your power situation?
@gnomon thank you for checking! Things are icing over nicely, but still have power. We're not done with the ice storm yet, though, so fingers crossed!
@monsieuricon we actually need people from the anglo/west island side quite a bit! part of our challenge is crossing the mountain, for example, and that requires crossing the TMR and downtown enclaves :)
@monsieuricon yikes. I hope that they did get it wrong; we were supposed to get something similar in January but it missed us. I hope you’re equally lucky!
@monsieuricon in theory any vehicle can do v2h, if you use its 12v system to trickle charge a home backup battery. check out https://www.evextend.com/ . I have the inverter kit but haven't gone for the backup system yet
