@jeffgerstmann haven’t listened to the pod yet but… does Marathon feel like the kinda game that it’ll be just a meat grinder in a few months when only the hardcore are left playing for the most part? Destiny eventually got to where if you hadn’t played a strike 100x and knew every detail you were left behind and in the PvP it was getting crushed.
@evrythngwastakn Hard to say. If they add new areas and hardcore players go off to complete tasks there, the older maps might only be useful to newer players. There are already areas on the initial maps that are hotter than others, but I suspect that’ll change as more people finish the contracts that are sending them there in the first place.
@jeffgerstmann good to know. As someone with kids your kids ages, I get left behind on these kinda games quick and dishing out $50cad for a game that might be more or less not fun to play (or dead altogether!) in a few months is a harder sell than when I had nothing but time to squeeze out online sessions every night. But listening to the podcast and thoughts of a few friends I’ll probably dive in. Thanks!
