The new Vreid is a real surprise for me. I liked Windir, but let the first run of classic Vreid records entitely pass me by, maybe because of the off-puttingly third-reichy arywork. Then I gave the last album (from 2021) a few charitable spins at the time of release, but never returned to it. This new one, though, from what I've heard, is simply gorgeous. Might have to go back and investigate those earlier albums to see what the fuss was about.
