@stefanfendt @oz1lqo Well OM Schwarzbeck DL1BU was apparently deadly afraid of commies invading and had secret tunnels and stuff on the company premises, things like that.
And there were fierce battles, legal and of egos, about reputations and claims about antenna performance that came more than close to ending carreers.

@oz1lqo @stefanfendt He's deservedly a legend around here for his brilliant work for amateur radio and tech in general, but apparently he really had his difficult side as well. He died over a decade before I got into the hobby, so I never knew him, but I know plenty of people who did.
