Sure you can. Musk bought a bunch of cyber trucks and abandoned them. It would be WAY easier to buy a shit ton of movie tickets and there’s no evidence to get rid of after.

Well they chose not to it seems, oddly. Plenty of articles and memes showing completely empty showings in the booking sites.

Which makes me wonder if this was part of the strategy. Like a kind of reverse-Streisand? Once it hits streaming more people might watch it out of spite or see if it’s “really that bad.”

Who cares? They put it the box office numbers in the newspapers and 99% of the country believes it was a success.

People did go and say it was empty. The tickets were bought en masse and not used. It’s the same thing they do with religious and political books to get them on the best seller list.
