Iran war: Hegseth says Tuesday 'will be our most intense day of strikes' - Lemmy.wtf

Lemmy

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,”

None of this makes any sense to me.

Some quotes from Sun Tzu’s Art of War:

Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.

Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

And Machiavelli:

No proceeding is better than that which you have concealed from the enemy until the time you have executed it.

Change your proceeding when you become aware that the enemy has foreseen it.

Act so your enemies do not know how you want to organize your army for battle…

Hegseth, as head of the DoD, should have read this.

…So why the heck is he announcing a bombardment date, and telegraphing the US’s political weak spot so obviously? He basically blurted out “PLEASE DONT MISSILE OIL THE STRAIT, IT HURTS AND ITS WORKING”

Any IRGC strategist, sifting through US news, wondering if missiling oil infrastructure would hurt the US just got a “yes, absolutely.”

Fascism is dangerous and horrific, but it’s also incredibly stupid.
