The 1st attempt to patch a TPU tube with cut pieces of a old TPU tube appears to be a success. Ignore the paper residues around the patch. :)
Now I need to figure out a robust way to cure them on the go and a fast adhesive. Also some way to carry IPA on the go.
@mkpaa
Do you use TPU tubes (Aerothan?) in Brevets etc.? How's your experience?
@dbx Been using for 2 years now. Very mixed experience and always have butyl for spares for now. If I manage to figure out the patching process before summer I will go to #tcrno12 with 5/6 clik alu valve tpus only.

@mkpaa
Oh, kind of exciting! I'm still waiting for the right time to switch from butyl to TPU and skip tubeless completely.. 😅

#tcrno12

@dbx They are for very different purpose in my opinion. Tpu is a light weight butyl that is harder to fix. Tubeless has the benefit of mostly fixing itself, but extraordinaly hard to fix if you run into any issues.
@mkpaa
Yes, you're right. I just didn't have the need for tubeless, as my last flat was ~2-3y ago. So I'm just looking for the light weight, but don't want to give the simplicity away.
@dbx Yep. Butyl is very good in many ways and none of the options share all the good parts. :)
