At this moment, the Iranian women's football team are at the airport in Sydney. It's believed that this is where the Australian authorities will make their last attempt to offer asylum to all the remaining players and look at possible charges against their Islamic Regime guards.
It's a very delicate operation, and the Australian authorities are giving nothing away. All we can do is wait and hope.

It's being reported that the Iranian women's football team have left Australia with 7 of the squad of 26 having claimed asylum.
The women, some with small children at home, all had to make an impossible decision. The could stay in Australia, with all the repercussions on their families at home in Iran, or go back to their families in Iran and face the consequences.
I know Trump will be disappointed they didn't all stay because now he can't claim the win, but the women couldn't be forced to stay if they didn't give their consent.
This is something Trump has always struggled with.

For a minute there, Trump pretended to care about the Iranian women's football team. He thought they would all claim asylum in Australia and he could claim them for his war propaganda machine.
The whole team were all offered asylum in Australia, a third of them took it, while two thirds decided they would rather take their chances and go back to Iran to be with their families.
Trump doesn't know what to do with this. He still hasn't learned how to deal with women saying No.
