What benefit does Israel stand to gain from the war on Iran?
"Netanyahu has said he had been planning this war for 40 years".
Why?
"Iran remains the principal stronghold of resistance to Israel. It not only decries Israel’s apartheid regime & genocide in Gaza but also supports armed resistance groups such as Hezbollah & Hamas".
Most other govts in the region say they oppose Israel's apartheid, etc but they cooperate with Israel in practice.
@DrALJONES I wonder what Israel thinks will be the outcome of the war?
#Do they think the Iranian people will rise up and end the religiously run state? Do they think that they can take out all of Irans offensive power? Do they think they can prevent Iran from rebuilding its arsenal of drones and missiles?
Any or all of that via air raids alone, which has never worked anywhere else before?
With 40 years of planning, one would think that they have thought about the end state of this.

Perhaps I have not fully understood the analysis in the article, but I was mostly trying to express my bewilderment if Israel thinks a few weeks of airraids will work to achieve any longterm strategic goals.
That Trump couldn’t care less what happens when the US tires of this, is only to be expected.
