We just had a blizzard in the Northeast #USA and in #NYC a news reporter just wanted some empty chatter about the weather
But her interview subject had other ideas

@benroyce
She pulled up to the wrong city with that bullshit. She would’ve gotten the slop shit she wanted upstate. Thank you, Conner, for representing and not falling for the okie-doke.
@eve
A bit of an ironic a sentiment, given that upstate cities are full of people that NYC has chewed up and spit out, literal victims of the system this guy is talking about. But yea, fuck em I guess.
@contrasocial @eve What a load of hogwash. NYC ain't chewing up and spitting out nothing what are you talking about? I don't even know who EVE is talking about "posh people upstate" is Westchester County "upstate?" If it snows upstate nobody dgaf it's just another winter day. The media is the problem not the people of New York, no matter what part they live in.
I don’t know what YOU are talking about. The topic isn’t about snow. It’s about the homeless having to sleep in abandoned buildings, breaking into apartments to sleep in random hallways, and sleeping in subways because hedge funds are buying up all the property, creating ridiculous requirements to be able to even get an apartment, thus creating MORE homeless people and keeping them in the cold. And since people upstate don’t have to deal with the homeless or hedge funds, she would have gotten a better chance of a vapid response about snow from somebody upstate. That was my point. I live in NYCHA housing in the Bronx and every year we deal with the homeless breaking into our building sleeping on random floors. It’s a problem caused by hedge funds treating residential spaces as products in a store and not a necessity.
