remember that "nothing ever happens" applies to text editors
there are and always will be 2 text editors : emacs , and vi . acme is emacs . sam is vi . kakoune is vi . vscode , despite having a really good vim motions extension , is definitely emacs
@fiore "sam is vi" crazy fucking take
youre just scared of the truth
@fiore no i think its a based take i just dont think a gui wysiwyg editor with mouse bindings counts as vi unless we stretch the definition to "any visual editor with a command language is vi" at which point something terrible happens with vscode
no , sam is vi only if acme is included in the listing . if acme leaves , sam becomes emacs . however , admittedly sam and acme are so alien to this situation that they migjt just be too Elevated

also , vscode is definitely an emacs:

  • feature creep
-"it is actually a visual interpreter for a lisp language"
  • slow and bloated
  • you can swap your os with it
  • default: emacs binds
how is vscode emacs binds by default
