Of all the sites to be infected with this madness, /. was not on my bingo card. 😕
@adamhsparks I just checked this using Vivaldi stable with the uBO and Privacy badger extensions. debian Linux. I did not get pop up in your post. Maybe a regional difference?
@the_wub I don't get it with all my browsers, this was on mobile, iOS/iPadOS, where I'm using wipr. It works for me in Zen with ab+ and Privacy Badger (I just checked right now).

@adamhsparks Ah my daily mobile device is a PinePhone so I get to use full desktop browsers. I given up using my Android device for browsing a while ago.

But it is a shame that /. do this for any platform.

@the_wub jealous. That state of Linux mobile devices here is dire.

@adamhsparks The PinePhone is not really comparable to a commercial smartphone so I use it mainly as a small tablet. It does do phone calls with the latest version of mobian via 4G but I have a dumb phone for calls and SMS.

The old (slow but usable for me) 1st generation PinePhone is still available from the Pine Store.
