The next step on the #Degoogle journey begins: a new phone, with a #GrapheneOS install! The ultimate irony being, of course, that Graphene only runs on Google Pixel phones, so I've given the megacorp in the sky money directly for a 9a, rather than slowly sell my data for it.

I've dragged the same apps around my various Androids for fifteen years now, so this is going to take a while to get set up...

And something I forgot to mention last night: the installation process for Graphene is perhaps the smoothest UX I've ever come across. A webpage with a few buttons and explanatory text, which flashes your phone through the magic of WebUSB.

Granted, I had my suspicions about baseline compatibility so I only tried in Chrome, and it failed the first time because Incognito, but it was clear about that and simple to restart.

A lot of work has evidently gone into the experience of installing and using GrapheneOS; I think this might be a good ride.
