lol “Just follow the law!”
Plenty of admins are pretty and vindictive.

Do you have a source on that?
Use a new e-mail address, a tracker free browser and don’t immediately start posting in the same subs you were before. Subcribe to some other random subs and pretend that you’re new. Lay low for a while and after a week or two you’re good to go again.
This has worked for me three times so far. Though ask yourself, do you really want to go back?
Do you need to be logged in for that?
Surely you can use old Reddit and read the subs that way?
Maybe tor browser. New account made on tor browser with different phone number. Also on new device. Different windows login.
They track everything.
I’ve always wondered how they can even claim to be able to do this.
Obviously if you’re banned you can’t just sign up with the same email address or other details.
Move to Lemmy, forget Reddit.
I mean, Reddit clearly doesn’t want you, why should you maintain any attachment to it?
It takes a lot more effort than it’s worth. They use multiple layers of tracking to enforce the ban.
An IP ban is just layer 1. You’ll have to change your IP address and your location.
After that, they use fingerprinting data. It’s actually terrifying how much a website can gather on you. They know what devices you use, screen resolution, operating system, hardware specs, browser cache, cookies, what fonts you have installed, basically everything about your phone or computer can be tracked with browser fingerprinting.
After fingerprinting, they track your habits on the site. What subs your old account was subscribed to / active in, what kind of stuff you upvote and comment on, how you “talk” in comments, hell probably even your typing cadence.
Your best bet would be to stay off the site for a few months, and use a new device with an anti-tracking browser and a “residential” VPN.
OR… You can just hang out here and help this community grow. Reddit sucks balls now anyway, help us make a better one.
