Markdown is one of the main reasons I write today. It is what's known as an LML; a lightweight markup language, which allows you to simply write in plain text, and use simple syntax structures with symbols like asterisks (*) and brackets ([]) to represent common formatting options found in rich text.

One thing to note is that development has been very slow over the last year; I've been working on a huge refactor, which means no code changes have been published to the live engine or to the index in over a year, and I was going through my last year of college, which made things very busy and gave me little coding time.
I've graduated now, though I have another priority project at the moment. Once I finish that and get it to a more stable state, I plan to finish up the refactor of Clew I've been working on, which should significantly improve things.
I'll definitely be posting about that on the dev blog when I get to that stage, so subscribing to the RSS is a good way to hear when that happens: https://blog.clew.se/
