I’m honestly proud of myself that I finally put my self-respect, values, and needs as an artist and a person over prioritizing my relationship with my bandmates.

Even if it’s not the smart career move, and even if it’s scary as fuck to have a month to figure out how to do a set with no band (and not really playing my recorded songs).

I guess it’s important to me to align myself with what matters most even if it means I don’t have a band to play my songs. Feels weird and terrifying but also like I’m feeling free again.

Someone tell me I’m not pissing off the other band/promoters by doing a set that’s different from their expectations of Empress.

I mean it’s still a big rig loud set so that counts for something right
